Divorce:
In Arizona, a divorce, legal separation, or annulment is termed as a dissolution. The process for dissolution takes into consideration several issues, such as, custody and visitation, child support, division of assets, division of debts, attorney's fees, and spousal maintenance. Once all the issues are resolved, the Court will issue a Decree of Dissolution.

Be advised that a divorce or legal separation can take a substantially long time to resolve. This is especially true where the parties do not agree to the terms of the dissolution of marriage or there are substantial assets that need to be divided. However, there are times when both parties agree to the dissolution and the division of assets prior to the filing for dissolution. Obviously, this makes a dissolution faster and more amicable for all the parties involved. Our office will fully represent our clients' interests and we will advocate from a position that will maximize our clients' objectives. We are sensitive to the needs of children and will always strive to ensure that the best interest of the child are met.

Post Decree Modifications:
The Decree of Dissolution is a court order that defines the parameter of the divorce. That is, it determines who has custody, who has visitation time and to what extent, whether the visitation time granted to one parent versus another is monitored by the court, whether one spouse is entitled to spousal maintenance, etc. After this Decree, the parties will have the ability, given certain conditions, to seek a modification of the Decree or ancillary orders. Child support, custody, visitation, spousal maintenance, can all be modified after the original decree. Its important to note, however, that there generally has to be a substantial change in behavior, circumstances, or status to modify existing orders. The Law Offices of Simon P.
